Great insight! Most instructors teach getting out of green side bunkers one way. But the reality is that you need to control distance for various scenarios and have multiple methods with the club face like you said. Nobody ever talked about the sweet spot before and the relationship with how it goes through the sand! Awesome!

Leon Meleisea says:

What an awesome tip!!!!

Richard Lemasters says:

Hi Adam, I haven't played in a few years because of Arthritis  issues in my hips. Watching your vids is making me want to play through the pain. Getting a lot of good tips!! Thank You

Otto Vandieren says:

Practice to get skill. Like a Pro I met, who said practice, practice and practice.
I like your videos. They are aimed at us, the average players.

Joshua Mclean says:

The simple thought of club face like a table tennis paddle is simple yet so helpful!

Steve Alino says:

Thanks Adam.

Useful points, but still need to cover all the basics – set-up, swing, when to open/close face…

Mike Rodrick says:

Hi Adam;
Regarding the "hit 2 in. behind the ball" statement, if you're in soft sand & dig your feet in, isn't that putting you below the level of the ball, which if done on the turf would cause a fat shot? Would the same not happen in sand thus eliminating the concern of hitting behind the ball, as it would happen naturally? I'm of course speaking of soft sand.

BPhife says:

Awesome that was presented perfectly!

Harry Knuth says:

hi Adam, good stuff. Your way explaining things really adds practical value to all the video's already out there.
You could do me a great favor, in explaing the effect of ball position when working the ball i.e. hitting a draw in case fade.
Love your instructions keep up the good work.
greetings from the Nederlands

I have always loved your videos. Unfortunately I found this one very confusing. But I will give it a thumbs up because all of the other ones were good and you seem like a really nice guy.

Gary Guerrero says:

Great video on How to hit out of greenside bunkers! I never realized the bottom of the swing was so far forward for the pros compared to the average golfer. Thanks again for a great sand bunker lesson!
